The Ballarat Kart Club’s 2023 Winter Challenge has been run and won with a twist, with the event held in sunny Horsham, in a collaboration with the Wimmera Kart Racing Club.

The one-day event offered plenty of laps in a unique format that included two five lap sprint races after qualifying, followed by two more heats and a final. With modest entries in some classes and 61 overall, the club elected to run multiple classes on track at once.

In 2023 I took part in my first big race at Oakleigh Go Kart Club, the 2023 Morris Personal Junior Top Guns, KA3 Junior Light C & D.
